Hoskins Heights Tops Off Rooftop Amenity Space
Hoskins Heights, a mixed-use seven-storey tower with 65 rental suites, has topped off its rooftop amenity space, marking the start of exterior finishes to complete the 65 rental suites ahead of spring 2027 occupancy.
An invited group of residents, politicians, businesspeople, and stakeholders participated in the Topping-Off event on Thursday, September 24. It is the first major project in Westbank Town Centre since the City adopted the Town Centre Plan for higher density.
“We are grateful for our team of consultants, contractors, trades, community stakeholders and the City of West Kelowna's staff for their professional work, support, and shared enthusiasm,” said Christopher Blake, President of Lakeland Living.
The company is also working on a 74-suite rental project on Old Okanagan Highway, across from the new City Hall. Construction is scheduled to start within the next two to four months and open in spring 2028. Together, the two projects will add much-needed inventory of 139 rental suites, with 14 designated as affordable rentals under Federal CMHC guidelines, plus up to eight retail and office spaces.
Each suite at Hoskins Heights will feature a large covered outdoor living area; expansive views of the Okanagan Valley, Lake, and City; quartz countertops; room-by-room AC and heating; high ceilings; and individually metered utilities. The rooftop deck features a large living and dining area with comfortable seating, covered trellises, viewing areas, barbeques, and landscaping. In addition to the parkade, the project will feature the City's first car-share program and EV vehicle chargers.
The Hoskins project signals the reshaping of the City's downtown core. As a mid-rise project, it marks a significant milestone, as purpose-built rentals are needed in highly walkable areas to meet the city's growing housing needs. The City's downtown core has almost every service needed by residents, including personal and professional services, recreation facilities, parks, City Hall, trails, grocery stores, pharmacies, transit, medical services, and government services.
